About the event
Dye a pair of bamboo socks or a silk bandana with botanicals! We will use a variety of dye material including dried flowers, plant extracts, and kitchen waste such as onion skins and pomegranate peels to create a range of natural color! In this 2 hour workshop we'll learn a bit about the history of natural dyes and how to craft one of a kind wearable art through the technique of bundle dyeing.
Working with natural dyes is a practice in appreciating the slow process and letting go of expectations of a certain result- many plants yield surprising colors. There are many lessons to be learned in the dye pot! This class is suitable for all skill levels and will be perfect for anyone looking to deepen their relationship with the natural world.
